About
I'm Guy Miotke. I build marketing that scales.
Founder of Scaile. Fractional CMO. Twenty-plus years of turning marketing spend into booked calls and revenue.
Scaile is my fractional CMO practice. I'm Guy Miotke, a marketer based in Appleton, Wisconsin. For more than 20 years I've worked across marketing, digital marketing and revenue operations, and I've managed over $100 million in marketing budgets along the way. Scaile exists for one kind of company: one that has outgrown "we'll figure out marketing" but doesn't need a full-time executive yet.
The short version of my story
I ran my own marketing firm for years. One of its clients was a young FinTech SaaS company with a strong idea and almost nothing else: no brand, no website, no marketing team to speak of. I was talking with them about taking on more work, looked at everything that needed doing, and realized nobody was there to do it. So when they asked me to come in and lead it, I said yes almost before they finished the sentence.
I joined as head of marketing in January 2023, and ended up owning marketing automation and IT too. There was a team of three. Two of them quit that first month. The goal on the table was $20 million in revenue that year.
What happened next
We built a direct-to-calendar engine: every channel, every ad and every webinar had one job, which was getting the right people onto a sales call. Then we measured everything against that one job.
- Year one: total revenue passed $30 million, starting from zero, and we closed out the year with our first $1 million new-business month.
- Year two: revenue beat year one. That happened despite ad costs roughly tripling, a market flash crash and dozens of copycat competitors.
- Demand: 2.2 million new website visitors, and 15,000+ demos booked in a year, up from 4,000 the year before.
- Efficiency: return on ad spend up 20% while budgets grew about 300%. Ad turnaround cut from two weeks to 24–48 hours using data and AI. Testing budget cut 35%.
- People: I built the team from nothing to 17 direct reports, and the company grew without outside capital.
I told that story from the stage at the Financial Marketing Summit, including the parts that went wrong. The failures taught me more than the wins did.

What I'd do differently, and why it shapes Scaile
Four lessons from that run show up in every Scaile engagement:
- Get the data right early. Once every source, ad and hook was measured against one point in the funnel, decisions that took weeks took days. I'd have built that sooner.
- Optimize for the number that pays the bills. Opt-ins and clicks are easy to celebrate. Booked calls and revenue per call are what matter.
- Stay nimble on people. Contractors early, full-time hires once you know what works.
- Use AI inward, with a human in charge. AI made us faster, but it never replaced judgment. Data plus AI is powerful. Data plus AI plus a person who knows the business is what actually makes money.

How I work with clients now
I work as your fractional CMO: I own the marketing plan, lead the people and vendors doing the work, and report on the numbers your leadership cares about. Every engagement also leaves behind practical AI marketing systems your team keeps after I'm gone. If you're not sure whether you need a CMO, an advisor or a consultant, start with what a fractional CMO actually does, or take the two-minute Scale Check.
Why "Scaile"? Scale + AI = Scaile. Senior marketing judgment sets the direction, AI does the heavy lifting, and the result is growth that doesn't wait on the next hire.
Where I'm based
Scaile's office is at 100 W College Ave in downtown Appleton. I meet Fox Valley clients in person and work with companies across the US remotely. The easiest way to reach me is a 30-minute call.
